I prefer the early morning, before anyone else is awake.
I prefer doing it myself.
I prefer suggesting.
I prefer new.
I prefer black leather boots.
I prefer checking off boxes.
I prefer not knowing and, therefore, not having the responsibility.
I prefer keeping my mouth shut.
I prefer to look at things existentially.
I prefer to fake it till I make it.
I prefer to rewatch the same movies 50 times.
I prefer not obsessing over things, although that doesn’t stop me.
I prefer actions to words.
I prefer running.
I prefer pine scented cleaning supplies.
I prefer feeling misunderstood over having to explain my thoughts.
I prefer many things, but most of all
I prefer not to let preference control me.
(Original poem by Wislawa Szymborska)
